International is an American brand whose origins go back to 1902, when International Harvester was formed in Chicago from the merger of several agricultural machinery makers. Over time, the company focused on trucks and diesel engines for heavy transport, and from 1986 it operated under the name Navistar International.
Its diesel engines have traditionally powered long-haul trucks, school buses and construction machinery in North America, and are recognised for their toughness in demanding working conditions.
