Iveco was born in 1975 in Turin (Italy) from the merger of several European commercial vehicle brands: Italy's Fiat Veicoli Industriali, OM and Lancia Veicoli Speciali, France's Unic and Germany's Magirus-Deutz. That union created one of Europe's major truck and van manufacturers.
The engine business went to FPT Industrial, a division specialising in diesel and gas engines set up in 2005, heir to more than a century of experience within the Fiat group. In 1998 it introduced the Cursor engine family, a benchmark for robustness in trucks and industrial machinery.
Iveco/FPT engines power trucks, vans, agricultural machinery, generator sets and boats, valued for their efficiency and their adaptability to different fuels.
